“The Rescuers” 1977
One of my favorite scenes from the film.
Medusa animated by Milt Kahl, Penny animated by Ollie Johnston.
Model Sheet Monday!
“Bambi” 1942
At the time of production, Bambi had the most complex and realistic character designs of anything ever produced at the Disney studio. Walt brought actual animals into the studio for the animators to study, and lots of time was spent making sure the animals moved in a realistic and believable way. It shows.
“One Hundred and One Dalmatians” 1961
Another shot I added the sound to. Animated by Milt Kahl.

“One Hundred and One Dalmatians” (1961)
I added these two tests into the scene from the film they originated.
Both animated by Milt Kahl.

And here’s the Spaghetti Sequence from “Lady and the Tramp” (1955)
Frank Thomas did this one.
“Lady and the Tramp” 1955
I think Frank Thomas was the lead on Tramp, but I’m not 100%.
EDIT: Milt Kahl was the lead. Frank Thomas did the famous spaghetti sequence.
Here’s a longer version (with sound!!) of the Shere Kahn scene I posted a while back.
“The Jungle Book” 1967
One last piece of Aristocats. This one is an early version of a scene which was animated by Milt Kahl. He originally had Thomas O’malley designed with stripes. You can also see his design of Duchess in there. Milt went on Vacation during production and Ollie Johnston eventually redid the scene.(He did the last half of it already)
Below is a note from Milt to Ollie.
