Why are most of these clips just a few seconds in length? Do studios only release short segments?
90% of the Pencil Tests I post were originally posted online by the animator(s) who worked on that scene. Most animators only work on a handful of scenes in a film, and it’s usually one shot at a time. Unless it’s a longer shot (which is rare: this scene from Tarzan comes to mind), it’s only going to be a few seconds long.
But the length isn’t really important. It’s the quality of the animation that makes them interesting. 10 seconds of amazing animation is infinitely more interesting that 1 minute of mediocre animation.
